FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS COUNSELING?

Counseling is the process of working through personal, social, and psychological problems with the help of a trained and licensed professional. Often, people engage in counseling to reduce unwanted symptoms (stress, anxiety, depression, anger, etc.) and regain normal health and balance. Counseling can also benefit individuals looking for help with addictions, trauma, relationships, life adjustments, and discovering purpose.

WHAT IS A COUNSELING SESSION?

A counseling session is the confidential meeting time between the counselor and the client(s). It is the hope of Clear Path Counseling Services that each session feels more like a conversation than therapy. Sessions are 50 to 60 minutes in length, depending on the type of session, and can take place weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

The number of counseling sessions needed vary from client to client. It often takes 2-4 sessions to create a client's individual treatment plan, but one of the goals to the treatment plan is to bring initial clarity to the number of counseling sessions that may be needed. For various and obvious reasons, clients will always be part of the process of determining the timeframe for counseling.

HOW MUCH DO COUNSELING SERVICES COST?

Counseling services range from $110-$150 per session, depending upon whether it is individual counseling, or couples or family counseling. Often, payment plans and income-based discounts can be arranged, and there are occasional financial scholarships available. Contact Clear Path Counseling Services for further financial information.

WHICH HEALTH INSURANCES DO YOU ACCEPT?

Clear Path Counseling Services accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and Priority Health insurance. Clients with a different insurance provider, or with no insurance at all, will need to pay for counseling services (cash, check, or credit card) at the end of each counseling session.
